Change - some personal ramblings

For those of you who follow the blog, I thought I just needed to let you know what is happing in my life.  Over the last few weeks I've been in the process of aquiring a job.  I've put my company, Frantic Naturalist on hold for the time being, shut down the See-Namibia.com website, though I'm holding onto the domain name.

I'm going to start working for &beyond, basically the only company I've every really worked for.  I worked in the Windhoek office in 2003 as a 'operations manager', and I've had a lot of contact with the Windhoek office all along.

Since that time the office has down-scaled its operations, and so it will be a fun place to step into now.

Aside from running the office and a tiny staff, I'll be doing a lot of advising in itineraries for consultants doing bookings for Namibia, something I've done for so many people for free over the last few years.  I'll also be involved with the only &beyond lodge in Namibia, Sossusvlei Desert Lodge where I worked as a guide and assistant manager for many years.

I'm going to keep Sandcurves, though I'm not sure at this point what I'll write about.  I've been doing some insomnia hacking on a Python project of mine, creating a personal management software based on how I implement GTD - Getting Things Done.  If I think it is cool, I'll put it up on the site under an open source project.

I'll be traveling around Namibia, with little means for blogging over the next few days.  I'll certainly be taking some pictures, so I'll have new stuff on Flickr.
