Technorati State of the Blogosphere Survey

One of the blogs I follow is a rather unique 'blogging tips' blog called " One Cool Site Blogging Tips" The author, who calls herself "Timethief" is a very active in the blogging and social media scene. In her most recent post (State of the Blogosphere Survey) she mentioned that Technorati is again doing their Technorati State of the Blogosphere Study.
I'm keen to be an active member of the massive blogosphere community and so I took the survey. Technorati will have results out in November.
I don't know what you think of Technorati - perhaps it has lost some of it's following recently. It is hard to use it as a promotional site for your own blog - I think if you are big you are really big on Technorati, but if you don't make the cut, you really don't get noticed. And I'm not just talking about my little blogs, I'm referring to some rather well followed blogs. I can't think of an example off the top of my head - but anyway, that isn't the point I'm trying to make.
There is one thing for which I really use Technorati a lot, and that is to find the who's who of travel blogs and to keep up with what is being blogged about in the industry. To find the 'who's who' is really where Technorati shines - and whether you want to use it for finding blogs to use to 'keep up' or if you want to try to promote your own site by commenting on the big blogs... whatever your purpose, Technorati shines in finding you the big fish.
Tourism is one industry where the blogs tell you more than the industry sites do. I'm not really trying to be an insider of world wide travel trends - but I do enjoy just having a view of what travel experiences get people excited and talking.
So, long story short... I appreciate Technorati for what they do, for what I get out of it, and so I take their little survey. If you want, you can too...
